‘Battle of the Video Games’

The Verge posted this on their front page, showing a clip of video from a TV show from 1983 where people battles against each other on arcade, quite interesting.

Look at it i almost feel as if this footage is from an alien’s TV show, people speak and behave in a very distinctive way from what I seen these day. The culture of human beings now certainly is very different from merely 30 years ago, but why? Does the word “evolve” implies it is getting better and better each year? We can mathematically prove that our science is significantly better than 30 years ago, can we do the same for other areas.

Many “sane” people would argue that musics today such as Justin Bieber is not as good as Madonna, certainly not nearly as good as Beethoven? This gives me the impression that either the culture of human as a whole can not / should not be measured, or it simple won’t “get better” or “get worst” too much. Or do you want to say our music industry is going down for the last few decades, marching towards the ultimate goal of making every living human lacks the taste for good music and listen to Nicki Minaj till their ears bleed to death. (My dad used to argue the music start to going down hill since backstreet boys and Britney)

Back to the topic, while the music is maintaining at the same level, fashion is mostly completely different from what it was. People no longer dress themselves like people 30 years ago does, which some what leads to a conclusion like “Oh, yes, we fashion designers and hair stylist worked very hard. We pushed boundaries. Create some blah blah modern by combining the old blah blah.” For some reason people feel ashamed when they dress in an outdated way but not so when they listen to “good old music”.

This, I firmly believe, more or less have to do with the fact companies sell clothes have to push for new “style” to make money while the record companies can easily make money from old stuff (Oh! Boring! Let’s make a recompilation!). But I don’t think (I hope not) that explains it all. (Illusion of Free Will they say)

I’m out of clue and these questions are all messed up now, will think about these later, go sleep.

I have a PS3, but I still have a ton of PS2 games.

OK. I have ton of Xbox360 games, but my console was stolen :-) yes, controllers and TV too, so I don’t have to worry about those.
